At its official charter in 1763, Jericho claimed fifty-three families. Two hundred thirty seven years later, the community boasted 1402 families. At its’ geographic core, Jericho General Store remains Vermont’s oldest continuously running store. We can recall buying occasional candy treats there, in our youth. Jericho’s most famous person is ‘Snowflake’ Bentley, a farmer who brought macro-photography to snowflakes, revealing their mind-boggling technical intricacy to the world.
